Abstract

The review considers — from the author's point of view — the most important ideas of the latest book by social philosopher, specialist in the theory of modernization G. Yu. Kanarsh. The book is devoted to the analysis of Russian modernization and its prospects in the XXI century, the specifics of Russian society and national character, which play an important role in the development of the country. The review emphasizes the innovative approach of G. Yu. Kanarsh to the analysis of Russian modernization, the combination of cultural-centered and natural-scientific approaches to understanding the specifics of Russian society. The author of the review focuses on the fact that the analyzed work contributes to updating the discussion about the stalled Russian modernization. In this regard, the work makes an important contribution to the socio-philosophical understanding of Russian contemporaneity and the recent past.
