Fiction of Russian Emigration in the Kingdom of SCS/Yugoslavia

Abstract

The article makes an attempt to consider the fantasy of the Russian emigration in the Kingdom of SHS/Yugoslavia. Research on the science fiction of the Russian emigration is still few in number and, as a rule, consist of works devoted to individual writers and the peculiarities of their biography and work. The author of the article believes that research into the study of the specifics of Russian fiction must necessarily include a solution to the problem that concerns the genealogy of Russian fiction, which requires, within the framework of the study of the mechanisms of genrogenesis, to identify and describe not only the concepts of fiction and the fantastic that are difficult for terminology, but also to consider the specifics a fantastic assumption, whose functionality can be different and change genre form. This will allow us to consider the dynamics of the formation of the fantastic genre in Russia, to include in it the overlooked or dissatisfiedly studied “grassroots” forms — newspaper novels, a series of cheap libraries, popular books, which did a lot for the formation of the genre, and thereby fill the gaps that exist in the history of Russian science fiction. The study of the science fiction of the Russian emigration and the study of the publishing activities of those literary centers that gravitated towards the publication of works of the fantastic genre can be not only useful as filling in the aforementioned gaps, but also provide material for the study of the worldview of the Russian emigration and its autoreception, which is reflected in the choice of topics. and plots. The article also provides an overview of the writers who lived in the Kingdom of SHS/Yugoslavia, and turned to the fantasy genre in their work.
