Abstract

In the article the author analyzes the ambivalent nature of relations between Russia and Estonia. He shows the closeness of Russian and Estonian writers and cultural philosophers. And at the same time, there is the everyday and political Russophobia. This is partly due to the history of the USSR, the suppression of the Estonian confrontation by the Bolsheviks, but also the complex of a small country that was forced to obey a big neighbor. The love of Russian intellectuals for Estonia remains, as well as the common Finno-Ugric roots that we feel.
