										Abstract
In his essay, the author reflects on the role that language plays in the process of creating or confirming national identity. He concludes that there are examples in history, both confirming and refuting this thesis. The language is perceived by the author as one of the “national dreams” that can consolidate society in the face of non-existence. The author also touches on such an important concept for himself as the “revolt of simplicity” against the dramatic and sometimes tragic complexity of the structure of society.
